Vought’s Wellness Program Receives Top Award By Champions in Health

DALLAS, NOV. 30, 2009  –  Vought Aircraft Industries has been selected as the first place winner in the large employer category by “Champions in Health” for its LiveWell@Vought wellness program. This is the second consecutive year Vought has received this award.

Champions in Health is a collaboration of government agencies, health organizations, academia, businesses and health professionals who recognize exemplary wellness programs in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area. It is a program of the Health Industry Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing and supporting the health industry in North Texas.

 Champions in Health recognized Vought’s facilities in Dallas for the way LiveWell@Vought meets the unique needs of its workforce, how outcomes are measured, and the stability and sustainability of the program. Judging is based on leadership and management support, wellness program outcomes and evaluation methods, individual activities and future program plans.

I congratulate those who have taken advantage of our program to exercise more, adopt healthier eating habits, and improve their quality of life, both at home and on the job.”

Vought kicked-off its LiveWell@Vought wellness program in June 2007 by hosting health fairs for active employees and their immediate families. Wellness participants continue to receive a free, confidential health screening each year. Annual health assessments are an integral part of Vought’s wellness program, as are ongoing challenges and educational seminars, online health education and condition management, access to onsite fitness centers and more.
