Raise Funds For American Cancer Society

DALLAS, OCT. 9, 2009 – Employees at two Vought Aircraft Industries facilities are participating in a variety of activities this month to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Vought’s site in Milledgeville, Ga., has already raised more than $4,600 to support its local Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society’s international movement to end cancer. Additional fundraising activities include selling Christmas ornaments and the following efforts:

  • Oct. 14 - pink pancake breakfast
  • Oct. 15 - wear pink day
  • Oct. 21 - pink cupcake day
  • Oct. 27 - pink ribbon day

In Stuart, Fla., Vought employees are gearing up for the city’s inaugural walk to benefit breast cancer. Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk will be held Oct. 17 at Memorial Park in

Stuart. Proceeds from the walk will benefit the American Cancer Society.
The Stuart site also has many wellness activities going on to support breast cancer awareness, including selling pink ribbons and having a breast cancer “walk and learn” program.

“We value giving back to the communities where we live and work,” said Vice President of Human Resources Tom Stubbins. “Grassroots efforts like these are obvious signs that our employees care about being good corporate citizens and strengthening their own communities.”
