Vought Recognized for Outstanding Subcontracting with Minority, Women-Owned Businesses

DALLAS, NOV. 5, 2008 – Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. was recognized for its outstanding record of subcontracting with minority and women-owned businesses at the 2008 Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week activities held recently at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Hyatt Regency.

Vought received the “Million Dollar Roundtable, Helping Hands” award during the Mayor’s Breakfast on Aug. 19, which was hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) and MBN (Minority Business News) Texas magazine.

Twelve Vought buyers also received awards as “Million Dollar Buyers” for individually purchasing $1 million or more in goods and services from minority and women-owned companies during the previous fiscal year. In addition, one Vought buyer was recognized for purchasing more than $10 million in goods and services from minority and women-owned companies.
