Vought to Participate in American Heart Association’s HeartWalk Campaigns at Each Site LocationDALLAS, SEPT. 9, 2008 – For the first time, Vought Aircraft Industries is actively supporting the American Heart Association’s (AHA) annual signature fundraising campaign across the entire company. “We are continuing a long company tradition of volunteering our time to worthy causes in our communities,” said Vice President of Human Resources Tom Stubbins. “This particular event combines wellness with volunteerism. It’s a perfect opportunity for us to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living while banding together for a common cause.” Start! Heart Walk is the AHA’s primary fundraising event. This year more than 1 million walkers will participate in more than 450 events, raising funds to save lives from America’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers — heart disease and stroke. Vought employees and their families will participate in various Heart Walks within the next month: Dallas on Sept. 13; Charleston on Sept. 20; Los Angeles, Nashville and Stuart, Fla., on Sept. 27; and Milledgeville, Ga., on Oct. 16. The company’s Stuart, Fla., facility has supported the Treasure Coast Heart Walk since 2001, raising approximately $5,000 annually for the AHA. Earlier this year, Vought was awarded with the AHA’s platinum-level Start! Fit-Friendly award, the organization’s highest possible recognition for companies that have made significant healthy changes in providing a workplace culture that promotes and provides access to wellness, physical activity and heart-healthy eating options for their employees. Vought earned the award for its LiveWell@Vought companywide wellness program. Launched in June 2007, LiveWell@Vought provides employees with the resources to make substantial and permanent lifestyle improvements. These resources include annual comprehensive health screenings, access to an on-site fitness center, morning stretching routines before shift, a stress management program, access healthy food options, a walking program, a healthy weight and lifestyle management program, and online health education and condition management. Vought enlisted the help of Cooper Aerobics Center's consulting division, Cooper Ventures, and Matria Healthcare to develop its wellness program. It includes the hiring and management of seven national staff members to provide onsite support at Vought facilities across the nation. About VoughtVought Aircraft Industries, Inc.
