Vought Names Scholarship WinnersDALLAS, AUG. 19, 2008 – Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. has announced the recipients of eight higher education scholarship awards of $2,000 each. “Providing scholarships is part of our drive to be a good corporate citizen,” said Vought Vice President of Human Resources Tom Stubbins. “We feel it is important for the company to help support the education of students within the Vought family at each of our major locations.” The recipients, selected from the 42 students who applied, are listed alphabetically by company location: Dallas Krysta Harrison – Junior, University of North Texas, Denton, Texas; kinesiology major (graduate of Billy Ryan High School, Denton, Texas); and daughter of employee Dwight Harrison. Grand Prairie, Texas Hawthorne, Calif. Milledgeville, Ga. Nashville North Charleston, S.C. Stuart, Fla. The 2008 scholarship program is sponsored by Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. and the Nina and Gordon Williams Scholarship Fund. Eligible students must be the spouse, son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter or grandchild of an active Vought employee. The students, all of whom are entering either their junior or senior year of college, were selected based on their academic standing, involvement in school and community activities, as well as a personal essay and letters of reference.
