DALLAS, MAY 15, 2008 – Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. announced today that it has raised more than $116,000 to date for the annual March of Dimes walking campaign, led by a corporate contribution of $50,000. Vought registered hundreds of walkers companywide for the March for Babies events that took place last month in various locations across the country.

Seven of the company’s sites have participated in local March of Dimes walks: Brea and Hawthorne, Calif.; Dallas; Everett, Wash.; Nashville; North Charleston, S.C.; and Stuart, Fla. The company’s site in Milledgeville, Ga., will participate in its March for Babies event in September.

Six Vought employees in Dallas achieved Top Walker status by raising more than $1,000 each. Vought’s Texas-based employees raised approximately $31,000. Employees in California represented Vought at the Los Angeles event, raising nearly $9,300. Vought in Nashville contributed more than $12,000. The company’s Contour subsidiary in Washington raised  $5,770 while the Vought site in Florida collected $1,250. Vought’s newest site in North Charleston participated in its third March for Babies event and raised $3,000.

“Being a good corporate citizen is an integral part of company’s mission,” said Vought Human Resources Vice President Tom Stubbins. “By participating in this annual March of Dimes event and contributing to a worthy cause, our employees play a vital role in serving our local communities.”

In February, the March of Dimes recognized Vought for being a Top 10 Corporate Sponsor for the non-profit’s annual walking event in the Dallas-Fort Worth during 2007. Vought executives accepted the award on behalf of the company’s entire workforce in Texas, which contributed nearly $75,000 to the March of Dimes in 2007.

March for Babies (previously WalkAmerica) -- the nation’s oldest walking event -- has raised more than $1.7 billion for the health of America’s babies since 1970. It is the March of Dimes’ grassroots effort to raise money for the fight to prevent birth defects, infant mortality and stem the growing crisis of premature birth, the leading killer of newborns.
