Vought Hires VP – Engineering


 

DALLAS, FEB. 1, 2008 – Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. recently appointed Ron Muckley to the position of vice president – engineering. He reports to Chief Executive Officer Elmer Doty and is responsible for leading all aspects of product engineering for the company.

“We are fortunate to have Ron join us,” said Doty. “He is an accomplished general manager with extensive experience with Chrysler and TRW. His process and systems expertise in parallel industries will be a welcome addition.”

Most recently, Muckley was vice president and general manager of TRW’s North American Braking and Suspension business, consisting of 15 manufacturing sites. Prior to that, he was vice president and general manager of TRW’s Safety/Security Electronics business. He joined TRW in 1992 as director of engineering and went on to assume positions of increasing responsibilities.

Muckley began his career with Chrysler Corp. in 1976 and held various product and manufacturing assignments before leaving to run an electrical contracting firm for three years. He rejoined Chrysler in 1986 as an engineering supervisor. In 1989 he was promoted to engineering manager, responsible for interior electronics and electronic systems for passenger vehicles.

Muckley holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Detroit and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University.
