Vought Kicks Off Annual Can Do! Food Drive CampaignDALLAS, DEC. 3, 2007 – Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. officially kicked off its annual Can Do! campaign today, which raises funds for local food banks in each Vought community. During the weeklong food drive, employees participate in numerous fundraising events such as food sales, silent auctions, games, raffles, and the sale of Can Do! shirts. Voluntary payroll deductions contributed throughout the year adds to the total. Every dollar raised provides approximately six full meals. Last year, Vought employees raised enough money to purchase 436,111 cans of food, translating into 872,220 meals for those in need. Since this annual drive began 25 years ago, Vought has contributed the equivalent of approximately 15 million cans to food banks in local communities. Vought Can Do! in California benefits the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank in Orange County. In Florida, the beneficiary is the United Way White Doves Project. In Georgia, the Milledgeville drive benefits the St. Stephen’s Food Bank and The Empty Stocking fund. In South Carolina, the Low Country Food Bank receives Vought’s Can Do! donation. Nashville’s donations benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. In Texas, the contributions go to the North Texas Food Bank and the Tarrant Area Food Bank.
