Vought Announces Scholarship RecipientsDALLAS, AUG. 25, 2006 - Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. recently announced the recipients of seven higher education scholarship awards of $2,000 each. The recipients, selected from the 34 students who applied, are listed alphabetically by company location: Dallas Grand Prairie, Tx. Hawthorne, Calif. Milledgeville, Ga. Nashville Jenna Thomas - Senior, Middle Tennessee State University; concrete industry management major (2003 graduate of Blackman High School, Murfreesboro, Tennessee) Stuart, Fla. "We appreciate the opportunity to offer scholarships to these members of our extended Vought family," said Tom Stubbins, Vice President, Human Resources." It's exciting to be a part of the process and to see the enthusiasm and commitment exhibited by these students. We're proud to be partners in their educational pursuits." The scholarship program is sponsored by Vought Aircraft Industries; Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America Local 263; and the Gordon and Nina Williams Scholarship Fund. Eligible students must be entering their junior or senior year of college and be the son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter or grandchild of an active Vought employee. Students must also maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0. In addition to their transcripts, applicants submitted a 500-word personal essay and two letters of reference.
