DALLAS, OCT. 20, 2005 – Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. announced today that it has raised $214,970 for the annual March of Dimes WalkAmerica campaign. Vought registered 485 walkers companywide for WalkAmerica this year.

The amount raised by Texas employees totaled $180,889, earning them recognition as a “Super Hero” team by the March of Dimes. Four Vought employees in Dallas achieved Super Hero Walker status by raising more than $5,000 each, and 14 earned Top Walker honors for collecting more than $1,000 each.

For the second consecutive year, Vought was awarded “best t-shirt design” for the large company category by the Dallas March of Dimes organization.

Employees in Hawthorne and Brea, Calif., represented Vought at the Los Angeles event, raising $11,300 and $3,645, respectively. In Everett, Wash., the Vought team made a significant showing at their walk in downtown Seattle and raised $1,225. The company’s Nashville site closed out fundraising with a bike run, raising $9,360. The Vought team in Florida raised more than $1,142 at its WalkAmerica event. Employees in Milledgeville, Ga., participated in their local WalkAmerica event on Oct. 1, generating more than $7,409 in donations.

“The Vought team continues to be a driving force behind the success of this important campaign,” said Vought Chairman, President and CEO Tom Risley. “It is rewarding to play a vital role in our communities by supporting such a worthwhile cause.”

WalkAmerica – the walk that saves babies -- is the March of Dimes’ largest fundraiser. It is a nationwide tradition that began 35 years ago.
