In June 2006, Vought Aircraft Industries officially opened its state-of-the-art composites facility at the Charleston International Airport. Workers at the 340,000-square-foot facility produce aft fuselage sections (called barrels) for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Vought anticipates the gradual hiring of approximately 350 people to work at its 787-production facility. Two-thirds of these jobs will be in manufacturing. Of the remaining one-third, half will be in technical support. The remainder will be split between administration and maintenance.
Vought Aircraft only accepts resumes for currently posted positions so you will be unable to apply for specific openings on the 787 program until they appear on the Career Opportunities site.
