Vought Annual Food Drive Raises 556,295 Cans

DALLAS, DEC. 19, 2003 - Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. announced today it has raised 556,295 cans for its annual food drive, exceeding the company's 2003 goal of 400,000 cans.

Employees in California, Florida, Georgia and Texas participated in the Vought Can Do! food drive Dec. 9-12. Since this annual drive began 21 years ago, Vought has contributed more than 14 million cans to food banks in local communities.

In California, the food will be donated to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. In Florida, the beneficiary is the United Way White Doves Project. In Georgia, the Milledgeville drive benefits two organizations: the St. Stephen's Food Bank and The Empty Stocking. In Texas, the food collected goes to the North Texas Food Bank and the Tarrant Area Food Bank. These two Texas food banks serve 600 agencies in 25 counties.

During the drive, employees participate in numerous fundraising events - from food sales, silent auctions, games and raffles to the sale of Can Do! shirts and hats. Voluntary payroll deductions contributed throughout the year adds to the total.

Members of Vought's management team joined employees during the week as volunteer cooks and servers. "The generosity of our employees never ceases to amaze me," said Tom Risley, Vought president and chief executive officer. "Even in challenging economic times for our industry, Vought employees continue to come through for others. I wouldn't trade this work force for anything."
