Vought Names Randy Smith Vice President of Business Management


 

DALLAS, OCT. 9, 2002 - Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. today announced the appointment of Randy Smith to vice president - business management.

Smith's responsibilities have been expanded to include leadership of program and functional business management. In addition, he provides recommendations on financial and non-financial strategic objectives and alternatives; planning; proposal administration; and customer, government and industry relations.

Since June 2002, Smith served as director, integration and strategy development for the company. Prior to that, he was director, integration, and was responsible for strategic integration, planning and coordinating business reviews, organization structures and financial analyses.

Smith has been with Vought Aircraft Industries and its predecessor companies since 1980, when he joined Vought Corporation, an LTV Corporation subsidiary, as an indirect budget analyst. He served in increasingly responsible positions in the business management organization, being appointed manager of division financial analysis in 1987. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Texas, Arlington.
