DALLAS, DEC. 12, 2001 - Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. announced today it has raised 604,050 cans for its annual food drive, exceeding the company's 2001 goal by more than 30 percent.

Employees in California, Florida, Georgia and Texas participated in the Vought Can Do! food drive Dec. 3-7. Since this annual drive began 19 years ago, Vought has contributed more than 12 million cans to food banks in local communities.

In California, the food will be donated to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. In Florida, the beneficiary is the United Way White Doves Project. In Georgia, the Milledgeville drive benefits two organizations: the St. Stephen's Food Bank and The Empty Stocking; in Perry, the food is donated to Project Agape Love (P.A.L.). In Texas, the food collected goes to the North Texas Food Bank and the Tarrant Area Food Bank. These two Texas food banks serve 600 agencies in 25 counties.

During the drive, employees participate in numerous fundraising events - from food sales, silent auctions, games and raffles to the sale of Can Do! shirts and hats. Voluntary payroll deductions contributed throughout the year adds to the total.

Members of Vought's management team joined employees during the week as volunteer cooks and servers. "The success of our food drive is an impressive tradition that reflects the quality and character of our work force," said Gordon Williams, Vought president and chief executive officer. "These are challenging times for our industry, yet our employees enthusiastically embrace the annual canned food drive in an effort to help others."
