DALLAS, OCT. 29, 2001 - Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. announced today that it plans to reduce its work force by approximately 1,200 positions, affecting the entire company at all operating locations.
Initial notices will be issued by the end of November, with the balance of reductions planned for completion by mid-year 2002.
Vought said the work force reduction is necessary to align staffing resources with a decline in its commercial aerostructures business.
Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. is the worlds largest independent supplier of aerostructures.
