DALLAS, JULY 12, 2001 – Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. today announced the appointment of Steve Davis to vice president-Boeing Commercial Programs.
Mr. Davis is responsible for all Boeing Commercial Programs for Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc., including the 747 Fuselage/empennage, 757 Empennage/spoilers, 767 Wing Center Box/horizontal, 777 Flaps/spoilers, and doors for many Boeing commercial aircraft. He is accountable for all aspects of these programs including quality, schedule performance and profitability, as well as for acquiring new Boeing business through future aircraft derivatives, modifications, new programs and an expanded role in current programs.
Mr. Davis started his career in 1980 in the materials organization with the former Vought Corporation, an LTV subsidiary, serving in several management positions including vice president-Fabrication in Dallas. Some of his key roles with the company included project manager for C-17 start-up, program manager for 747/767, and assembly director for Boeing programs. Most recently, Mr. Davis was vice president of Dallas Site Operations for Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc., which was formed as a new company on July 24, 2000. Mr. Davis received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University.
