King George VI of England inspects the crew of the battleship U.S.S. Washington during World War II when it was attached to the British fleet in European waters. Above the inspection party is a Chance Vought OS2U-3 Kingfisher float plane carried by all U.S. battleships and cruisers for spotting gunfire and air-sea rescue purposes.
