Wings

Vought produces the fully integrated wing for the ultra-long-range Gulfstream G550 and G500 business jets. For the Gulfstream G450 and G350, the company builds the wing and nacelle system. Vought also manufactures the upper and lower wing panel assemblies for the Citation X business jet.

For large commercial airplanes, Vought builds the center wing box for the Boeing 767 at its Stuart, Fla., facility. Vought also is one of the largest structures supplier to Airbus. The company's Nashville facility provides various wing components - some measuring more than 100 feet long - for the A330/A340-300-500-600 programs.

In September 2002, Vought was selected by Northrop Grumman to build an enhanced wing for the RQ-4B Global Hawk unmanned reconnaissance system. Vought employees in Dallas produced two prototype wings and will build a total of seven production wings under this contract, which includes options for future production lots of the new wing configuration.

Vought delivered two prototype and nine production wings for the RQ-4A Global Hawk under its initial LRIP contract with Northrop Grumman.

Other current military products include the C-17 internal wing structure, E-2C outer wing panels, EA-6B wing slats, F-15 wing panels and F-35 lower wing skins.

Through Vought's heritage companies, it has produced wings and wing parts for many notable aircraft, including the B-1, C-5, C-141, L-1011, BAe regional jet, and Gulfstream GII, GIII, GIV and GV business jets.
